The Suwari Cup features a rounded shape perfect for "swirling" your whiskey or wine.

The craftsman repeats the lacquering and polishing process five times to give it a solid and shiny finish. Adding the pattern on the outside by a technique called "Murakumo-Nuri", a process where you apply soot from burning Japanese candles before the lacquer coating completely hardens. Only one craftsman in Yamanaka uses this technique, making each piece precious and unique.

  • Do not soak in hot water for an extended time
  • Wash with a sponge or something soft and wipe dry immediately after use
  • If you are concerned about the smell of lacquer, leave it in a well-ventilated place for a few days or run it through lukewarm water 2-3 times and wipe it with a soft cloth
